Job Description: The Associate PR Director has at least five years of public relations, marketing or journalism experience in the hunting industry. The Associate Director supports the Backbone PR account team, working with a growing portfolio of hook and bullet clients to provide strategic direction, creative thinking, copyediting, event support, media introductions, brand collaboration, and paid media integration. This position reports directly to the PR Director and is available in our Carbondale HQ or our Denver office.


· Provide daily support and guidance to Backbone's hook and bullet PR account managers and coordinators     

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with client contacts and key media members

· Support in the development of strategic PR plans that deliver on client goals 

· Copyedit press releases and client content

· Oversee and improve client reporting and communications

· Oversee and improve PR events, tradeshows and media trips

· Support new business pitching 

· Keep abreast of the hook and bullet, outdoor and media industries

· Attend tradeshows, sales meetings and in-person media meetings 


 Job Specifications/Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree    

· At least five years of experience in hunting PR and media

· Experience with copyediting, including AP style

· Expertise in creative writing and content creation

· Experience with all the major social media platforms

· Team-oriented attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed

· Desire to keep learning and advance within the agency

· Creativity and integrity

· A love of the outdoors 

· A sense of humor
